i remember this.. [May. 1st, 2011|10:15 am]
Hmm, looking through a whole heap of entries from back in the day, I'd forgotten just how much I used to use livejournal so openly, proper heart-on-your-sleeve stuff which I can't imagine doing anymore. Everything you say can be read in so many interpretations and do they even get read? Who actually cares? Hmm.. maybe this wasn't such a great plan after all.. The internet is not the place for dirty laundry once you're passed 18...
I got old and self-conscious and make interpretations for everything. It's somewhat dull playing devil's advocate with yourself after a while.
Anyway, non-rant over..

It's been a funny sort of day. [Dec. 20th, 2009|01:36 am]
[Current Mood |crazycrazy]

Ok, so it's been quite a busy 24hrs pour moi:
This time yesterday I was just about going to sleep after practising theory questions, digesting my late nite rice dish, exhausted from getting home from a ..15hour day prepping (solo - as I cant afford anyone else) for a last minute visit from my regional manager first thing on sat morning, which as due to be my weekend off, but foolishly I'd forgotten Dec = work ALL saturdays, so had to be working (6th day this week). Tell you what, I'm confused, so I'll break it down in hours, just so I ca relive the horror of this later for myself:
Fri 18th:
6.30am - head to work (day 5)
2pm - get call informing me of regional mangers visit
6pm - last staff member leaves, must double check all standards are met before leaving.
11.30pm - get back to Ulv, get food, revise
Sat 19th:
1.45am - sleep
6.15am - up, ready, off to work (day 6)
10.10am, leave work to take theory test
11.15am - pass test with 50/50 score on questions, head back to work, meet RM
12.30pm - RM leaves happy with standards, minor changes only
4.50pm - had enough, leave work (to duty manager), go xmas shopping for 1st time
7pm - frantically wrap gifts to be given that evening
8pm - arrive late at friends, eat own weight in sugar
11pm - leave, go home, watch 1/2 of Stranger than Fiction (love that film),
1.30am - here, now.
*sigh*
Tomorrows plan: see nana, do more shopping as only have tue off, usual household chores etc.

Caning it. [Nov. 1st, 2009|11:20 pm]

Crikey.
The whole 'work hard, play hard' ethic's been coming to mind recently. I feel like it should be really wearing me out, which I guess it kinda is, but at the same time, I WANT MOAR!
So it looks like I'm getting promoted soon - only on a temporary secondment within my store but I'm curious as to how that will effect my desire to party. I can kinda tell this is gonna be a busy-ass crimbo coming up.
So, the MUJS halloween party was pretty fuckin' fun XD
Last time I was in manchester was end of April! April I tells ya! Fuck! (been swearing like a sailor of late too!)
Was so nice to catch up again - though i missed a few faces for sure, the night was a long one but ended nicely - even if i was yet again, bit shitfaced. Drinking and confidence.. they're a strange combo, but they certainly make for adventures! Speaking of which, having to climb out kitchen windows when hungover & only wearing pj's is certainly in that box! Me n Lizzie got locked in her kitchen while i made delicious brekkie, sans fones or footwear. Just glad she lives on the ground floor! 10 comedic, gravelly & muddy minutes later, we were back in business. And yes we tried other methods of escape 1st.
Breakfast was good still too.

So yeah.. party on Wayne...

Aya Revolution 09 [Aug. 17th, 2009|09:31 pm]
Just wanted to make a note (mainly for myself) of what a rockin time I had at Ayacon this year. Was in so much doubt of going to another con despite being optimistic of Aya's usual quality. Wasn't disappointed :) As a quick recap of my highlights:
- B&B was pretty swanky lookin'
- Haruko Momoi-chan's sugar-and-crack fuelled (we suppose) concert was a great start to the weekend, and tho her high-pitched singing skills aren't my usual fare, she was super-hyper-candy-coloured fun fun fun! Very much enjoyed the rendition of 'Video Killed the Radio Star' tho.
- Was so nice to catch up with some peeps I ain't had chance to hang with for a vair long time (ie. Loui and Judy)and those in a fair while.
- Hearing the really lovely anime-music piano recital.
- Taiko Drumming - performances by Kaikyo Taikoto were awesome and I very much enjoyed having a go in their workshop - despite sweltering in my kimono.
- Sunday Night Live highlight Omake's - wonderful sing-song fun with "Poisoning Catgirls for a Lark" and That Man returned with video awesomeness in 'Resident Final Fantasy: Aeris Rising' which had me crying with laughter (as opposed to Becks' crying with horror at the "burlesque" routine) XD
- The variety of amazing workshops available: (I missed Wig Styling, Japanese Musicals, Tea Ceremony, Fairy Wing Making, Anime Make-up Tips & a Pop Sci in Anime talk by some Prof. amongst some) but went to a Kanzashi (silk-flower hair ornaments) workshop & talk, a Kaiju (J-movie giant monsters eg. Godzilla) talk, GothLoli Catwalk, Kimono Wearing & a J-Arts Festival talk also.
- Cosplays - yet again the standards were phenomenal - esp. the Doll girl & the steam-punk group.
- Bargains at the Bring and Buy: 5 dvds for £11. Woot!
- Havin a damn good boogie for the first time since er... April! Including impromptu limbo and conga fun which dragged in the american voice artist guest Matt Mercer (who was rather cute and funny) & gf guest JoEllan Elam and some members of the J-Arts Festival Panel!
- Wildlife Spotting - I saw 2 hedgehogs, 3 foxes & 1 deer!
All-in-all, a smashing weekend. Ame is on next year, but i think i'll wait for the next Aya again.

I think I might be a psychopath. [Apr. 16th, 2009|07:31 pm]
[Current Mood |angryangry]

Urrrr..My one day off this week and I've spent it working through a whole bunch of emotions - started great then went downhill from there. Am an aaaaaanngry lady at the moment at what seems to be mere trifles, but which wind me up to the point where I have to breath slowly, sit down and stop imagining caving my housemates faces in with a variety of blunt instuments.. seriously, I'm worried I might turn into one of those people you read on the news who one day just snap. The name for that (as far as I'm aware) is 'psychopath'.
I keep flitting from absolute apathy - cannot be bothered doing aaaanything, but I'm utterly bored of to mumbling rages! Todays incident incase you were wondering was sparked by the absence of some of my refridgerated products ie. mushrooms, raspberries, & strawberries absent, a pile of ground pepper in my grinder lid, and to top it off, someone moved my bike & 1 of my cycle clips is missing. Oh, as well as the house looking an absolute shit-tip, 2 rooms of which have barely changed since party carnage last saturday. (The one I tidied fully has been re-destroyed.)Am sick of living in some sort of student doss, of wearing earplugs most nights incase my housemates come back from somewhere drunk & feeling like I have a problem with everything. Ug. What a stinker of a mood I'm in eh? Oh, and its already nearly 8pm and I have work again tomorrow, thus not really enjoying my day off..
Apologies - I can't remember how to do html cuts - reminder please?

On being 26.. [Apr. 13th, 2009|02:03 am]

[Current Mood |annoyedannoyed]

Well, I'm writing this instead of sleeping when I know I have work tomorrow (fucking easter monday bank holiday my arse..)so I remain ever the night owl. Can't decide if I enjoyed 'my' party on saturday. On the one hand, the house looked good, my friends came all the way from manchester to see me & everyone who dressed up looked fucking fabulous - personally men should wear hair quiffed or 'up' at least once a week just for a change. On the other hand, having to defend your actions for being such a 'bitch' or 'cunt' for telling a bunch of brats to keep the fucking noise down (again) so your travel-weary friends can sleep in the next room leaves you with a shitty feeling. Maybe I just dont like parties anymore? I think maybe I'm getting too 'old' to be letting snot-nosed little shits use my house as a place to doss because my housemates invite them then fuck off out. Think maybe its time to be moving away from such a 'home'. It would seem I'm tired of justifying my actions and can no longer tolerate the arseholes of this world. Yes, i'm a little ageist, but I dont want to tar everyone with that same brush but so many younger people are wankers! And I'm not their fucking babysitter. Meh - sour times.

Bollocks to inverted commas too.

waa waa waa - guess ranting never has an age limit..

[Current Music |Midnight Creeper - EoDM]

Am feeling a veritable pic n' mix of emotions today!
Joy - I'm off work for the next 5 days! And have had my hair cut & it ain't awful!
Exuberance - Got Eagle of Death Metal playing loudly, window open on this lovely spring day!
Guilt - The boss's dad's just died so everyone's having it tough at work covering & now I'm off.
Anticipation - Got an Eagles of DM gig soon & my burlesque party & Naomi's back from India!
Annoyance - Wish people invited to said party would give me a straight yes or no.
Anxiety - will I get my sewing arse into gear & make some botch-job generic cosplay for tomorrow night? Also, later I'll be having my first driving lesson!
Laziness - I either want to bop about dancing like a tard again or sit around watching Battlestar Galactica season 2! But either way, avoid the hash job I'll make of getting cosplays together - as I've left it too late. :P

Anyhoo - decisions decisions..

***Rant***
#1: Tiscali
Mother fucking lazy-ass, lying bastards. Well, at least t'internets working at our gaff again. They are sooooo not going to charge me for this month at least! Oh, have a home number now: 01229 581350 ^_^ I only calls landlines on weekends.

#2: Waterstone's Liverpool One
Well, who friggin knows if it's open or not yet. Either way I had a ridiculously frustrating fortnight of manual labour and menial tasks (move box, check box, alphabetise, move box again, repeat, repeat etc.), worked ridiculous hours which meant I got to see fuck all of Liverpool - which actually seems really nice.) Not exactly the "merchandising with the best people in the company" tale I was damn well spun. I learned...umm...fuck all, apart from that waterstone's throws its money away yet is a skinflint & they hire retarded contractors (excuse the very un-pc language)who don't know what 'time-management' means. I now resemble a skin coloured elephant having eaten my own weight in food, so please, next time you see me, try not to stare/poke me with sticks. Oh, but I haven't grown a trunk...yet...

See some of yas friday!
